I use archivarius3000, can do something like that. I have indexed my pdf files and run "server" in archivarius3000, and then when I'm at work or anywhere, I can search in seconds all my pdf files through the web browser.

I'm not sure this is related, but I have "H" assigned to highlight the selected text. It doesn't work in the nevest version (I see that "H" is still set for highlighting selected text).

Reverting back to 24102, everything's working fine.
