PDF-XChange Editor Rendering Issues
Hi I have been using the PDF-XChange Editor and I am impressed so far but await further releases to see more features activated.
I did notice the following one issue of concern with the pdf rendering.I use OCR software to convert scanned pdfs to readable/searchable pdfs. These "converted" pdf's render well and can be easily searched in the latest version 2.5.207 of PDF-XChange Viewer. However, if I try to view them/search them in the PDF-XChange Editor where I want to use the Ribbon View and Split Screen functionality I get an unusable mess?....see the attached screenshot....
Can you shed some light on why this is happening? Note I can still select text and copy it from the document in PDF-XChange Editor and when I past it into Microsoft Word all the text is there?!? - so the issue is purely with the pdf rendering....?
What could be causing this.
Also will the final editor - released in March - contain all the features from PDF-XChange Viewer - so that only PDF-XChange Editor will need to be used?
Cheers,

Re: PDF-XChange Editor Rendering Issues
Hi,
No file was attached as an example - would appreciate a sample (zipped please) to look at and investigate and yes the Gold release will indeed include all the functionality available in the existing Viewer + all the new features of the Editor - allowing you to use the latter rather than both.
HTH
thanks

Thanks - but we actually need the PDF rather than a Screenshot of the issue to investigate ...

Re: PDF-XChange Editor Rendering Issues
First of all, I want to say that I'm very satisfied with the new text rendering. It's much smoother than before.
Also, I have the same problem. This document is a good example. It's in cyrillic but that shouldn't matter:
http://rapidshare.com/files/1547568201/ ... 201994.zip
I have a somewhat similar problem with this Chinese textbook:
http://edu.ocac.gov.tw/interact/ebook/d ... b-H-07.pdf
Sorry if it takes a while to download. Most text renders correctly:
On some pages the text on the margins fails to render correctly:
And here it's completely illegible:
The problematic text can be copied to clipboard without any problems. I think this problem with Chinese occurs in some other PDF viewers too, namely Nitro PDF.
Edit: It seems the pictures aren't very clear. So I uploaded them.

Re: PDF-XChange Editor Rendering Issues
Hi HOTGA,
Thanks for getting back to us with that, I've taken a look and see exactly what you're saying - it's total gibberish! I'll forward this the Dev. Team to take a look at.
It could well be that this because it is a Candidate release, and not fully featured/functional yet, and has been fixed for a later release. For now, I would suggest switching back to V2.5.207 for this, as it renders correctly (for me) in 2.5.
Thanks HOTGA, we'll keep you 'posted.'

Hi gate1975mlm,
Thanks for the post and the offer - unfortunately all further releases will only be available to (all) Users when publicly released, or so I have been informed by the Dev. Team here. If this changes, one of us will let you know
so you already have access to the latest CR release and others will be published in the coming weeks from the existing link.
