select (any) rectangle on a page and highlight it

Post by chiapas »

There is a "rectangle tool", but what I want is not only the "boundary" of a rectangle, but a rectangle filled with specified color. I really need this feature, please.

See for example:

Also, for "Highlight Text Tool", is that possible to have the 4 corners to be not rounded. (i.e its shape would be a real rectangle.)

Hello chiapas,

Make sure you have the properties toolbar visible in the Viewer (Ctlr-E should toggle it's visibility) and you can then select fill and border colours for your rectangles.

Best,

Hi Chiapas,

Thanks for the post - to get what you need in regards to the rectangle tool, you'll need to set a fill colour. It may help you to set a preset for this, so that it's not something that you have to set each and every time. Please see the following KB article for more info.:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... cific-Tool

As for the highlighter, there isn't any way to do this with the highlighter tool, but if you set the blend mode of the rectangle tool to "Multiply", along with a fill colour, it can act as a highlighter for you.

Cheers, hope that helps!

Thank you for the reply. I didn't see there is a option to fill color before. Now it works fine!

Hello Jeff Builder,

Welcome to our forums and thanks for your enquiry!

Is your problem like the one discussed here?
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/forum3 ... 62&t=28375

If not can you please attach one sample file illustrating the issue and we will then try to assist you further?

Regards,
Stefan

The issue is with the PDF exchange editor vs. PDF viewer. The yellow boxes at the corners and mid points on the rectangle tool are larger and obstruct alignment ability / vision when working with smaller shapes. Is there a way to make these boxes smaller? I tried to attach an example, but not sure how to do that.

Hello jeffbuilder,

No way to influence those currently I am afraid. They should remain fixed size in pixels - so if you zoom in the file - they will become less of an issue when fine adjustment is needed. You can also use the Object -> Transform selection... tool - to fine position, and size your object(s) with entering explicit numbers and not using the mouse.

Regards,
Stefan
