In the print menu, paper size is by default set to selection based on PDF page size (German version: "Papierwahl auf Basis der PDF-Seitengröße"), which sometimes - often with crippled PDF files from automatic scanner systems - gives funny (or at least unexpected) results.

Any way to change the default (i.e. to have this option unselected,and using the printer's available paper size, by default)?

Thanks for the post - Deselecting this option and printing once should then have that remembered between sessions. If it doesn't, then I would recommend that you try the Editor as it has replaced the Viewer and no further changes will be made to the Viewer:
