Underlining within a Highlighted area ?

Post by lbdyck »

When I highlight a paragraph or sentence and then try to underline a specific word it does not work.

Am I doing something wrong?

thanks

Try it the other way around. Mark the smallest amount of text first, and work outwards. Underline a few words, then hilight a sentence, or vice versa.

I am surprised that I can't underline after highlighting a sentance. I highlighted a sentance and then went on doing other editing including other highlighting. Now I can't underline anything that was highlighted. But I also can't undo the highlighting for certain sentances unless I do "undo" for the past 20 or so editing that I have done. This seems ridiculous to me. What if you edit something today and the next time you open the document maybe a week later you decide you want to underline specific words but you can't do it because it was highlighted in a previous edit. Maybe I don't understand how to take off the highlighting without using the "undo" icon. I've searched but can't figure it out. I tried to change the highlight to white so it doesn't show up but it still won't let me underline.
Thanks

May I also ask while I am here how to change the colors used in the forums? When I did a search for certain words the results came up with dark navy blue highlighting with black text for the words I searched. I can't read the words.
Are there any tutorials to learn everything that the PDF-XChange Pro can do? It would save a lot of forum posts and reposts. Searching for an answer is difficult.

1) May we suppose that you are using the Editor for this (not the Viewer) ?
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/produc ... nge-editor

2) In the Editor, when you like to apply an additional comment/annotation to the same text, first click the "Exclusive mode" in the Properties toolbar.

3) To remove Highlight or Underline (who are "Commenting" features), you can best do this via the Comments pane.
You can activate the Comments pane, by clicking the View-menu > Other panes > Comments (or by pressing CTRL + M).
In the Comments pane, you can select one or more of the applied comments and delete them (by a right mouse-click and Delete, or by pressing the Delete button).

4) When you are looking for Support, Knowledge Base, Tutorials, you can best start from the Tracker Software homepage:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/
then click the "Support" tab, followed by Online Help Site. This will lead you to the following URL:
https://help.pdf-xchange.com/

Best regards.

Hi all,

Thanks for the posts!

Pat - When you're attempting to place an underline on a highlight, the cursor will switch to the comment selection cursor in order to allow you to change the properties of the highlight. You'll need to enable Exclusive Mode, which can be found on the Properties toolbar (Ctrl + E).

Regarding changing the forum search highlights, I'm not aware of any way to change these I'm afraid.

Cheers,
