i have a situation where I need to use a separate pdf viewer/reader and editor. Does anyone know how to set up PDF-Xchange Editor as the "edit" in the context menu and Adobe reader as the "open"?

Thanks very much.

Hello Dan,

Just set Adobe as the default PDF handler, and then if you have the Editor also installed - int he context menu you should have an "Open in PDF XChange Editor" entry (it won't be in the direct "Edit" option, but slightly further down).
I searched online and using some registry hacks you might be able to change the behaviour for "Edit" for PDF files to launch our Editor as well - but that will be more complicated, and is a Windows thing, so you will need to check the online tutorials for that.

Regards,
Stefan

Thanks. I looked at the hacks but they are mostly assigned to file type. I'll try your approach.

Hi Dan,

That's correct, this would most likely be done on a per type basis.

Cheers,
