Append when saving

Hello forum & Tracker support team,

the "append to existing file" when printing to PDF is great. Couldn't this be added to the "Save As" dialog as well?

This way, an existing (and open) PDF could be easily added to a PDF file on the hard drive.

Thanks for the suggestion, that's not a bad idea at all. I'll pass it along and will see if it can be done. Keep in mind that we've been fairly overwhelemed with feature requests lately and have a bit of a backlog, so it's likely to be treated as a very low priority at this time, if the Devs. agree to implement it.

When appending to existing file, is there a way to append to the beginning of the document or only the "append to end" option? A lot of times I have to move the new info to the beginning and in a large document it can be time consuming.

For as far as I can see, the append feature is not yet incorporated in the File > Save dialog box (PDF-XChange Editor V6, build 322.3).

The best way you can do with PDF-XChange Editor is open the destination/target PDF.

Then, click the Document-menu > Insert Pages > Insert Pages...

At "Source", select the from file /
At "Actions with objects" do not change anything /
At "Page Range" indicate the pages that like to add/insert /
At "Destination", select where you like to insert the pages (Before or After, First page, Last page or a particular page)

Click OK

Thanks. Still hoping to see this one day if possible. I'm still having another issue trying to combine multiple open PDF's in one file without having to click on thumbnail--> insert pages --> then clicking on one tabbed file at a time until all are inserted. I feel I must be missing the command. Thanks for an overall awesome product!

Did you already try to combine your PDFs via the creation of a new document?

You can do this in PDF-XChange Editor > File-menu > New Document > Combine Files into a Single PDF

The (worlds) easiest way of combining PDF's that I am using a hundred times a day goes like this:

Drag files or pages between bookmarks
(also works if there are no bookmarks initially)
