Hand Tool and Highlight Tool to change automatically

Hi,

when I want to highlight parts of a text I activate the "Higlight Text Tool".
When I want then to scroll up or down or left or right, I have to switch to the "Hand Tool" if I have a touchscreen or an touchpad.

On a touchscreen or a notebook with touchpad it would be easier if there were a preferences-setting which allows to have the Hand Tool automatically activated when you move the cursor over the "non-page-area" (i.e. the grey parts left an right next to the page). When the cursor is over the page then the Highligt Text Tool shold be activated automatically.
If you have a mouse you can use the mouse-wheel at least to scroll up and down. But on a touchpad or a touchscreen the above mentioned functionality whoud be usefull.

So is there a way to realize this functionality?

The thing is that I often use a Acer Stylus Pen on the touchscreen of my Acer Switch Alpha 12. This is a convertible notebook, so that I can also use it without the keyboard (on which of course the touchpad is). So I have a Windows-tablet which can be used with the pen.

The function I asked for would be very usefull, because then I could use the Acer as a tablet only with the pen (right hand; left hand holds the tablet). I could very easily scroll or highlight text only with the pen without having to change the tool on the toolsbar or using two fingers of the right hand. When I don't need the fingers on the touchscreen it not only would be much more convenient, it also would prevent the screen from becoming smeared.

Hi Hobb19.

Technically its possible to add option to auto-switch to the Hand-tool when you move_over/touch the non-pages area OR non-text area on pages. With additional handling of the non-text area on the pages you will be able to scroll pages just by dragging their "white-margins".
