Yes you can. In following manners:

1) Once and for all (for particular pages or for all the pages of the opened PDF):
Via the Document-menu > Resize Pages ... and then using the "scaling" options at the bottom of the "Resize Pages"-dialog box.

2) Temporarily, just for printing:
Via the File-menu > Print and then using the "Pages Placement and Scaling" options, at Type: Reduce to printer margins.

Hello shay,

Did you test the suggestions Willy offered above?
Click Document -> Resize Pages... and a new window will open.
In that window you can select the new desired page size, and after that near the bottom there is a "Content Scale Options" section. Make sure to click the check boxes there - and your page will be resized to A4, and the content scaled accordingly with it. This will be permanent if you save the file - so make sure to "Save As..." and use a different name, so that you can have both versions of the document.

Stefan

Strangely, I can't seem to get this to work. If I try and resize pages with the Content Scale Options set, PDF-XChange Editor scales the pages, but the content size is not scaled.

Am I missing something with respect to this feature?

Hi David,

Does this happen with all files? Or just one/a few? If the latter, can you send a sample here or via support@pdf-xchange.com?

Thanks,
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

Hi Will,

I have tried a couple of different files (both scan-based and text-based), and it was the same with all of them.

Thank you

PS: strangely, the feature does work if at the same time the orientation of the page is changed from portrait to landscape. However if the orientation is basically kept, the content is not scaled.

Hi David,

I'm not seeing this here - Can you try resetting your settings (Edit --> Reset Settings)? Failing that, please do send a sample doc. just in case.

Hi Will,

I have actually tried it with both the installed version of PDF-XChange Editor as well as with the portable edition, the latter freshly downloaded with original settings, and once more with reset settings.

Attached is a sample file:
Charger-B6-Pro-manual.pdf
(661.8 KiB) Downloaded 85 times
...and below the settings that I have used on this file where again, the content is not resized with the page.

Here's another file. It seems that I have found out what is the problem. Please see the attached file including the comments contained therein.

Hello David,

This is already fixed along with the Resize Comments option - this will be available in the next major build 323.

Alex
