Is it possible to open multiple instances of a PDF with PDF XChange Editor?

Re: Multiple instances of PDF-XChange Editor
Hi UASGAL4.
For installed Editor is possible to open many frames(each may contain many document-tabs):
- by undocking any existing document-tab from its frame-owner
or
- by using option "Open each new doc in a new window" from [Menu/Edit/Prefs/Documents tab/Tabs and Windows] and each new document will opened in separate frame window.
But if you need to see the same document in two separate document-tabs or frames - just try to use the [Menu/Window/New Document Window] feature for opened document.
---
Note: only one process will be used for all such frames. In other words - Editor can be "multi-framed" but not "multi-processed".
---
Exist one workaround to force Editor to be "multi-processed": just use the portable version of Editor.
HTH.

Okay I am not sure what you are saying and doing what you did did not work. I found that you can click on window > split. Which produces 2 documents side by side that you can navigate separately.
Can PDF Editor open multiple instances of the same document in different windows?

Hi UASGAL4,
Thanks for the post - Vasyl's post was highlighting the differences between the terms "Multiple Instances" and "Multiple Frames" as they're quite different. Multiple Intances requires that there are multiple, unique process that run simultaneously and independently. Multiple Frames creates multiple windows of the application, all running under a single process. We support Multiple Frames, but do not support Multiple Intances.
In order to view to copies of the same document, in two different windows, you'll need to open the document, then use the Window --> New Document Window feature:

If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.
