Hi,
I'd like to know if the Search Pane is supposed to take advantage of the Shell Extension and Ifilter indexing ?
The Search Pane is a very powerfull tool to search whitin a folder with hundreds of PDF files and to navigate through the results, but if there is no indexing it can be a bit long !
By the way, how do I know if the Shell Extension is installed ?
Thanks,
François

Re: Search Pane and Indexing
Hello François,
It does not currently take advantage of indexing, but it should still be pretty fast compared to other searches (unindexed).
To check if the shell extensions are installed - just open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to a folder with PDF files inside. Turn on the preview pane in WE, and click on a PDF file - if you can see a preview of the file - then the Shell Extensions are installed.
Regards,
Stefan
