Hello XChange community and staff,
I noticed that I get a IE crash when I open PDFa documents in the browser and try to send them as a mail via the bottom on the left side. But I'm not 100% sure if the problem is that the fact that the pdf documents are in that certain format, because you will see another strange thing on my image: The hyperlinks I use don't end with ".pdf".
However, when I open normal pdfs in out intranet, you can click on send mail and it works fine. Also, I can simply download the PDFa documents and then right click->Send as Mail. So this problem is not really problematic but I'm curious why it doesn't work.
Sorry that the screenshot is German, I forgot to switch to English when I made the screenshots.
I'm using PDF XChange Version 6.0 (Build 321.0)
Best regards
Merlin

Hi Merlin,
Thanks for the post - Please try updating to build 322.7 and see if that helps:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/downloads
If that doesn't, please send a link to a sample that causes the crash.
Thanks,

I have the same problem with IE plugin mail send. Please see attachment. Mail send is working fine if using PDF without IE plugin. I have the version 7 Build 324.0. IE crashes after that MAPI error message.

Hello saupom,
Thanks to the changes MS introduced to file associations in Windows 10 - things like MAPI became a bit problematic.
Please try to reinstall your mail client - and see if that will sort out the MAPI associations and get over the error in the first place!
Regards,
Stefan

Additional info in following thread:
viewtopic.php?f=62&t=22921&p=88585
It seems like "Enhanced Protected Mode" (EPM) in Internet Explorer 11, blocks access to particular Application Program Interfaces (API's), like MAPI.

Hi Willy,
Nice one! Seems shutting that down should solve the issue. Thanks for the tremendously helpful tip!
