Feature request: click-and-hold menus

Post by halabund »

Almost every Windows program supports click-and-hold menu navigation. It would be very nice to have this in the viewer, as this is a quicker way of using the menus (and to be honest, I got used to it so much that I just cannot change this click-and-hold habit).

By click-and-hold menu navigation I mean the following:
  • 1. Click on the menu name and hold the mouse button.
    2. Move the mouse on the menu entry you wish to activate
    3. Release button
In PDF-XChange viewer I have to release the mouse button for the menu to appear.

Thanks for fixing this :) !

This might seem like a very minor point, but it really increases usability!

This got broken again recently. I was hoping that it would get fixed in an update, but click-and-hold still does not work in 37.2. Is there any chance that this will be fixed again?

The problem is now slightly different from the original one: Clicking and holding does open menus, but releasing the button on a menu item does not activate that item, so a second click is necessary. It would be nice if one could click on a menu and hold the button, move the mouse over a menu item, and release the button to activate that item.

Fixed in 38, together with ALT+key menu shortcuts. Great! :D

The Alter Key shortcuts even work to pull down the menus if you hide the menu bar.

I don't know if that is by design, but it is useful. It works in fullscreen mode too.

You can customise shortcuts to view some toolbars in fullscreen mode. The options are almost unlimited.
