Edit text in scanned + OCR pdf

I scan a great number of old magazines, many of which you can find via the Internet archive, and some via google books and other websites.

Sometimes the enhanced OCR feature does a great job at recognizing less than perfect text, othertimes it tries and gets some words completely wrong.

I have a picture(JPG) in a PDF. It contains the name of someone in the picture, John Rosica. Find John is successful. Find Rosica isn't. Find Rasica is. The OCR software has misunderstood the o for an a. How can I edit the OCR text? I don't need to change the scanned text, just the OCR interpretation.

Any help will be gratefully received!

Could you please send us one of the files with which you have this issue?

Also, could you please tell us what version is your PDF Editor and what OCR tool are you using ( the Enhanced OCR or the Default OCR )?

yes, of course. I started with exchange basic, and then upgraded to get the enhanced OCR which generally works great.

I'll send you the pdf and JPG for the exact case I documented here. I've submitted it as a support request, same topic name.

With a lot of these cases, I don't need the visual text changed, they are need to be searchable. I need to be able to edit the names on pictures, the rest of the text doesn't matter. Of course if it's only possible to retype the entire text block thats OK, but I'd prefer just being able to edit the names.
