OCR Pages tool shows 0 files created

PDF-Xchange Pro 10.0.0.370 (This may have started prior to 10.x but can’t be sure)

I’m running PDFXTools using the following command line:

/Runtool:showui=no;showprog=yes;showrep=no;subfolder=no ocrPages "T:\FilesToBeOCRd\Users\AllUsers\Documents\$$Test" /Log:full=yes "C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Local\Temp\PDFXtools.txt" /Output:folder=source;Filename="%[Filename]";overwrite=yes;showfiles=no

The output log file shows 10 files processed, 0 files created. The files were created so why does it show 0?

I suspect that the reason is simply because you appear to be overwriting the originals instead of creating new copies of each file separate from the original. unless I have misread your file paths, it does appear that you are opening and then saving each file to the same location with the same name.

If you could try changing the save location to a new area (or just change the default save rule from "overwrite" to "autonumber", you will most likely see the readout show new files were created. If that does not work, can you please right click your tool in PDF-Tools and choose "export tool", then send us a copy of it? Yes I am overwriting the files but if the new files are different than the original that it should count the file as "Created"
I will try your suggestion even though my procedure requires that the file is overwritten. Dimitar Djongov already replied to me
that he was able to reproduce the issue and he would bring it to the attention of the developers.

I can't test this now but I will and reply with my results.

You are right, there is a bug that leads to that "files created" counter never changes. Bug has been localized and will be fixed in the next build.

Unfortunatelly, there is no workaround for that issue.

May I ask how are you going to use the "files created" counter? If we knew that, we would possibly suggest a solution.

I have another application that reads the OCR log file and parses it for the count of files created. It's an application I wrote so for now I can get around it with a minor program change. As long as I know there will be a fix I'm good for now.
