Problem with new Update and Windows Server 2016
Hello.
I've got a problem with the new update 10.0.0.370 on a Windows Server 2016 Datacenter.
When i click on the register "View" the program crashes. i looked at the eventlog and the problem seems to be the "read out loud" plugin.
The program also crashes when i go to "file" -> "preferences" -> "speech".
The Eventlog says(translated from german):
Name of the corrupted application: PDFXEdit.exe, version: 10.0.0.370, timestamp: 0x648a24bb

It happens only with Windows Server 2016. I tried out my Windows 10 pro and Windows Server 2022. Both work.
I tried another 2 Servers with 2016 and got the error again.
I also tried to uninstall PDF xChange an reinstall directly Version 10.0.0.370 (not update from Version 9.xxx)
Is there someone having the same problem or got some tips

Hi, Tobia
Any chance we can get a crash dump from you also? https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... estigation
I am not sure yet whether the dump we have is going to give us answers, probably, but I cannot think of a reason not to have a second example.
Kind regards,
Paul - Tracker Supp

Hi Paul
Sorry Crash Dump is not possible at the moment. Only Event Viewer Infos:

Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: PDFXEditCore.x64.dll, Version: 10.0.0.370, Zeitstempel: 0x648a249b

Berichtskennung: a1ade2e8-10f2-11ee-81d7-005056acf35a
It's happening some times if users are opening serveral PDF's. I also don't know if its a special kind of pdf causing the problem.
I've uninstalled the readoutloud on the Version 10 and it seems to be stable now.
Regards,
Tobias

Re: Problem with new Update and Windows Server 2016
Hello Tobias.
I found a workaround if you don't need the Read Out Loud plugin.
When you go to File-Preferences and then to Plugins you can uncheck the "Read out Loud" plugin.
After uncheck the plugin you have to restart PDF xChange.
This works for me. May it works with your problem as well.

Hi, Rennsemmel
thanks for the work around, that also has the added benefit of pointing the devs in the right direction from the dumps we did get.
We are looking into this now.
Kind regards,
Paul - Tracker Supp
