Is it possible to highlight a word within a post-it note?

while it is possible to use "rich text" to change the colour of the text in the Sticky Note pop ups, highlight is unfortunately not one of them. You can change the appearance of the text:

Cursor has to be -- IN the Text Box -- for the Text Properties Choices to Show.
Dbl-Clk on Note Icon to Edit after creation.....
Would (ie) Red Characters = Hi-Light for your uses?

I can't use the "Ctrl" key to select multiple words to change their appearance.

I see the same. I can use Shift to select a contiguous group but I cannot select multiple words that are not consecutive.

the devs have agreed to do something here. I have raised a ticket for the "Feature Request": RT#6839: Feature Request :: Editor :: Option to use a modifier key to perform a 'fragmented' select.

Please note that this is considered low priority, as such it will be at the development team's discretion as to when it will be delivered and I have no ETA at this time.
