Can not change the language settings
Today I installed the current "PDF XChange Pro 5/262" and have problems with language ..
In PDF-Tools (4/203) and PDF-Viewer (2.5/203) I can change the language settings without problems.
In driver (5/262) and Office2PDF (5.5/256) I changed to English - and can not return: neither to German nor to another language. English stays selected.

Re: Can not change the language settings
Hi Peter,
You will need to change that through the control panel:
-> Devices and Printers (Win Vista/7)
-> Printers and Faxes (Win XP)
- you need to select the desired language and then press the "Set as Default" button, not the "Apply" in the lower right of the window.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Can not change the language settings
Hi Peter,
This button is definitely present on WIn7 - and I am now starting up an XP machine to test with the latest build on it.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Can not change the language settings
Hi Again Peter,
This is a test from a fresh XP SP3 32 bit isntall (Virtual machine) with just the v5 driver intalled on it - the Set As Button is there and is working properly. On the attached shot I've changed the language to Czech for testing.
So please try to reinstall the whole Pro package and see if this will fix the problem.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Can not change the language settings
Deinstall - restart - install - restart -> language is "German" due to the installation process, but the dialogue still has no "Set as Default" button.
Set DPI to 75% -> restart -> same problem.
As already said, the Viewer and the Tools does not have this problem; only driver and Office2PDF.

Re: Can not change the language settings
Hi Peter,
Just to be sure - you did use the .exe/.zip installer - and the windows locale/language is set to Germany/German right?
Best,
Stefan

Yes.Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:- you did use the .exe/.zip installer -
Yes, but there are some strange configs in our OS that display sometimes (rarely) English strings in some commands (Explorer ...).Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:.. and the windows locale/language is set to Germany/German right?

Re: Can not change the language settings
Thanks for the details Peter,
It appears that some metrics on your PC are different than the default - and this causes the sub-dialogue with the list of available translations to stretch down excessivley - thus hiding the "Set as default" button.
We will see if this can be fixed at our end, and as a workaround - please do select the desired language, then press the Tab key and then Enter - this will switch to the (invisible) "Set as Default" button and press it - effectively switching the language.
Best,
Stefan

Re: Can not change the language settings
I found the reason: All my fonts in Windows (Dialogues, Popup, Captions, ...) where set to "Arial Unicode MS" (due to Unicode) instead of standard "Tahoma".Tracker Supp-Stefan wrote:...It appears that some metrics on your PC are different than the default...
Now I set it back to Tahoma and the dialogue is OK for me. Maybe other users with other font-settings have similar problems?
Thanks and regards
Peter

Re: Can not change the language settings
Hi Peter,
Just a quick update on this.
We've created a ticket in our system:
#1588: Drivers 5.0.263: Incorrectly displayed language selection dialogue with specific fonts settings in Windows
So that we can track and fix this issue at our end.
Best,
Stefan

Hi Peter,
Ticket 1588 is fixed and the fix will be available in the new build 5.0.264 expected this week (it might even be a bit later today or early tomorrow).
Best,
Stefan
