Open ended cloud

Post by kbrcadman »

Is there a way of drawing an open cloud (not complete) in PDF-Xchange Pro? Or could "cloudy" line type be added to "pencil"? Looking for a way to quickly modify a complex cloud other than redrawing it or adding and manipulating points.

Hello kbrcadman,

I am afraid there is no such way to do this. The closest way to have an open squiggly line is to use the underline tool, however, that will only function when underlining text.

To change the underline line type, click and hold the underline tool, then go to Comment Styles pallet:

There, change the line type to "Squiggly"

I hope this helps!

It would be very helpful to have the cloudy border option for polygon line tool.
Please add it for the next release. :D

Hello sanduspa, and all,

The Cloud is a type of annotation - defined in the PDF specification - so we can't really modify it to be "open ended".

An alternative to the underline would be to e.g. draw a cloud shape then flatten it, and after that use the redaction tool to "trim" it down to a portion/line - you can then copy that object as needed:

Kind regards,
