Autodesk Inventor 2008 Issue

Post by DClark »

Directly copying and pasting email received from our BIM/CAD team...

"Dan,

Here is what I have found out about the PDF creation from Autodesk Inventor.
If I create a PDF using PDFX-Change 3 or 4 the PDF is incorrect.
I downloaded a different product: PDF995 and created a PDF from the same drawing.
The 995 PDF is correct.

I used the default settings for both products.

I have attached all three samples.
Could you communicate with the folks at PDF-XChange through their forum and see what we might be doing wrong?
It could be something as simple as a setting somewhere.

The prints are being made in Autodesk Inventor 2008.
I am using default paper sizes in both products.

In addition when I make the PDF in PDFXchange 3 the print is created very quickly.
When I repeat the process in PDFXChange 4 it takes 4 minutes and 50 seconds of spooling before the pdf is created.

Can you help me with this?"

Attached is the zip of all 3 PDF's. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hi Dan,

Investigating - suspect it is the margin size (setting should be 0.125 inches I suspect if its anything like AutoCAD) and the speed issue - try setting Printer Properties -> Advanced -> Print Spooled Doc's first.

will come back ASAP if the above proves to need editing after investigation.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Would be very helpful if you can send me (Ivan@tracker-software.com) .tmp file from both V3 and V4.
How to get .tmp files described here: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... .php?t=800

Thanks

The tmp files are roughly 16MB each, and the limit for upload is 2MB. How would you like me to transfer these files?

Thanks,

Dan

Amazingly enough, changing some settings and zipping them took them waaaaaaaaaaay down.

Attached are the .tmp files.

Thanks,

Dan

Also, as a workarround for now while new build will be released -- turn off "Enable optimization of Images sequences" on Optimization page of driver preferences.
But turn off this option will increase file size.
