I have a problem with overlapped highlighting making color brighter.

Knowledge Base Article: KB204 - Created On: Sep 21, 2009 11:53 AM - Last Modified: May 2, 2012 06:23 AM

Symptoms

The highlighting tool has rounded bowed ends, when trying to highlight two sections of concurrent text, these ends overlap and intensity of the highlight increases where it overlaps.

Cause

You are probably using the highlight tool with high levels of transparency (low opacity).

Resolution

You can not change the way the Highlight tool curves at the ends, however there are two things you can do to remove this effect:

  1. Remove the old highlights and apply a new one for the entire selection of text.
  2. Make the colour 100% solid (no transparency).
