How do I hide the "Pro" features in the "Free" Viewer?

Knowledge Base Article: KB229 - Created On: Nov 18, 2009 05:50 PM - Last Modified: May 2, 2012 06:23 AM

Symptoms

I have PDF-XChange Viewer installed in "Trial" (sometimes referred to as the "Free Version") mode and would like to hide the"Pro" features so they cannot be used.

Cause

When PDF-XChange Viewer is used in "Trial" mode ("free version" - unlicensed) there are a few features that are restricted.  These features are marked with a "Pro" icon  and a Tool Tip warning when clicked that agreeing to use this feature will put a water mark on the document.  Despite this occasionally a restricted "Pro" feature is used when it should not.  To avoid the likelihood of this happening these "Pro" features can be hidden from the UI.

Resolution

In the Viewer go to Edit --> Preferences --> registration --> [check box] Hide Restricted, "Pro" functions in the free Viewer version.
