In PDF-XChange, I have highlighted key phrases in a document. I would now like to copy the highlighted text into another document - how do I do this?
Answer
Use the "Summarize Comments" feature as detailed on page 108 of the PDF-XChange Viewer manual. You can find the manual both in the Windows Start Menu along side PDF-XChange Viewer and from within the Viewer by selecting:
Help --> Contents.
After adding notation/markup to a PDF document one can easily export to a file a summary of the markup using this feature. Highlighted text for example:
After highlighting the text select Comments --> Export Comments to Data File
This will open up the Summarize Comments Dialogue box where you can choose from a variety of file formats, groupings and sorting orders, as well as pager ranges and layouts:
The results can be a simple text file that can be used to import the data into some other system, formatted PDF documents , rich text or html.
