Please note :
The PDF-XChange Viewer is not designed to create new PDF files from 3rd party document formats such as MS Office, Internet Explorer etc - if you wish to create NEW PDF files from Windows applications (any that can print to paper) then choose one of our Virtual Print drivers below - the PDF-XChange Viewer is designed to create PDF files only from images - or to scan new pages from your scanner - as well as View/Modify/Annotate etc - existing PDF files!
We recommend all users who need to ask which version to download - use the exe/zip installers (the only difference is one is wrapped in a zip file as some download management software will block '.exe' files) as this will correctly sense and install for the Windows version you use, MSI installers do not and you must be sure you download the right version - for the operating system your system uses.

MSI Installer Options - who should use ?
The easiest answer to this is if you are not sure - do not use these installers - they are aimed at corporate system administrators - not general users, so if you are not sure - use the default installer provided and not the MSI installer option !!!
BETA Releases - who should use?
We will be offering a freely available Beta release of the latest PDF-XChange Viewer build from mid October onwards, this will be available to all and will be updated frequently, meaning the alternative 'stable' releases will be offered less frequently than has been the case to date. It is recommended that this is used by advanced users only who are comfortable using beta software and aware that it may contain issues and bugs - but accept this and would prefer to take advantage of the latest functionality available. We suggest this should not be used by corporate users with large installed client bases unless specifically recommended to do so by a member of our Support team.

Adobe may have come up with PDF format, but it is, sadly, no longer the best software company to view/work with PDF files. I found resorting to using older Adobe product versions, simply because they were faster. Acrobat/Reader has become unbelievable bloatware.
I found the PDF-XChange software to be faster and easier, with better interface, and producing just as high a quality PDF output as anything Adobe puts out. Highly recommend checking it out! Competition is good, and this software is definitely giving overpriced Adobe HOGWARE a run for the money!

It is indeed THE software to use for viewing/editing pdf files. I hope products such as PDF-XChange Viewer beats Adobe's defective, clumsy and poorly integrated revenue streams and put them out of business. Adobe's products are not meant for the average user and are always in a pre-alpha release. Yet, it is very unfortunate that Adobe charges a minimum of $400 for Acrobat 9.
Advantages of PDF-XChange Viewer:
It works as advertised - opens, edits pdf files and even displays them in popular browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE too) without error or warning dialogs. Fonts and figures appear crisp and clean.
