Clarion Developers Webinar - PDF-XChange Viewer SDK

ClarionLive! PDF-XChange Viewer ActiveX Webinar Well-Received by Clarion Developers
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On January 28, 2011, Craig E. Ransom, Tracker's Clarion Support Specialist, gave a webinar for the ClarionLive! membership covering Clarion programming for the PDF-XChange Viewer ActiveX control. The focus of the webinar was using Clarion Templates to do most of the work in quickly adding the Viewer ActiveX functionality to any Clarion application.

The first demonstration created a PDF Viewer Procedure using templates that had a complete PDF Viewer up and running in about 20 minutes! Mr. Ransom then augmented the basic Viewer by adding and removing functionality using additional templates and a few lines of hand-coding.

The second demonstration used the powerful JavaScript Engine contained within the ActiveX Viewer to download data from and upload data to PDF AcroForms, combining Clarion database access with the Viewer Templates and hand-coding.

The last demonstration showed how PDF documents may be directly loaded from and saved to BLOB fields without generating intermediate temporary files, thus providing additional security for sensitive documents.

The slides for the demonstration may be obtained from https://www.pdf-xchange.com/ClaVwr_Webinar.pdf

The classes, templates, and demo apps used in the demonstration are included in the ActiveX Viewer Clarion download:
