Howdy,
I realize that my version of PDF XChange does not embed hyperlinks, but I have a work around for it. In MS Publisher I just insert a text box with the full link in it (font is white, cannot be seen), behind the text that will resemble an embeded link.
However, once I convert it to PDF with PDF XChange (v. 3.6) the link only partially works. For example instead of taking me here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbti_afa/s ... 539138876/, it only takes me here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wbti_afa/.
If I use Word, it works fine, embeds fine. But I dont believe I can use Word for newsletters as easy as I can Publisher.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: How to "embed" links
Hi Rodney,
If you get the Standard Version of our print driver it comes with an Office addin that has embedded URL support. It will work in Publisher as well as Word. You can read about, and download a trial version of it here. https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... e-standard
Please use copies of your documents to try it out as it will add watermarks in trial mode which CANNOT be removed.
Regards,
Jamie

Thanks for the reply, I'll check out the new version. Any chance on an upgrade price rather than paying full price for another version?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi Rodney,
If you log into your account you'll see a discounted upgrade path to the v4 listed beside your v3 product registration. Click add to cart and proceed through the checkout.
As well included in the upgrade is 12 months maintenance entitling you to upgrade to V5 free of charge as soon as it is released in the near future.
Best,
Chris

Re: How to "embed" links
Hi Bain1971,
Thank you for your post.
Embedded hyperlinks don't work with the virtual printer because hyperlink information is lost when is sent to the print driver of the virtual printer. Due to the nature of the virtual printer which emulates a physical printer, such information is not preserved. The limitation becomes from the environment where the print driver runs not from the print driver itself. Think of the final .pdf file as an analog of the paper hard-copy print. In order to workaround this restriction, the PDF-XChange Office Add-in was created.
Hope this answers your questions, if you have further questions please feel free to come back.
Thanks.
Sincerely,

Hi there.
Thanks for the insights on embedding links. I have problems with embedding links as well and I will definitely try these. Thanks Again.
