Hello,
we want to perform a roll out of the PDF-XChange settings for many users on Win 7 pro Clients.
The version used is: PDF-XChange Editor 6.0 Build 320.1.
The 64bit-application is installed in a special directory: %ProgramFiles%\PDFxChange
The settings have been exportetd by "Edit/Export Settings" to a file named "PDFXC_02-2017.xcs"
On a client the following command is used to import the settings:
"%ProgramFiles%\PDFxChange\PDF Editor\PDFXEdit.exe" /importsettings "\\FILER\ShareName\PDFXC_02-2017.xcs"
We also tried a local path for the settings file.
The command is executed without any errors but the settings do not apply.
If we do the import within the application "Edit/Import Settings" everything works fine.
Do you have any hints?!?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Import Settings
Hello brandj,
Does the user account have write access to HKCU ?
And is the command line executed with the same and correct user account?
Regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,
yes, user has local admin rights and the command is executed with the same account.
btw. we have a 100 User licensed version
Thanks, Jens

Re: Import Settings
Hello,
I did a test with exporting PDF-XChange Editor's settings via Edit > Export Settings... to an *.xces file
After this, I delete the PDFXEditor key in Windows Registry
Finally, I used the *.xces file via a batch file (*.bat) to import my settings back again (see example *.bat in attachment).
This works without problem.
?? Maybe it is just the fact that you are using the extension *.xcs in your script instead of *.xces ??
Best regards.

Re: Import Settings
Shame on me
Thanks, Willy ... the file was saved as '.xces' an I tried to import it as '.xcs'
As no error was shown I thought my script was ok
So, it is solved - thanks again and sorry for the case
