Document with Right to Left Flow

Post by ali_khawaja »

Hi - i have documents which are in Arabic/Urdu languages which are read from right to left, as opposed to English language which flow from left to right. is there any way to change the flow of the documents? i have seen this setting only in Adobe Acrobat (Edit-->Preferences-->Language-->Default Reading Direction). Is there a similar option in PDF-XChange Editor as well?

Thanks
Ali

Hello ali_khawaja,

Thanks for your post and enquiry.
We do not have exactly the same option - but in what context are you trying to use this?
Is it that you need to copy text from a PDF, input new text inside an existing document or something else?
Please let us know - and we will try to assist further!

Stefan

the context is in regards to viewing and reading the document. for an RTL document, the next page is on the left, so when you are reading in a multi page view, the next page should be on your left, not on the right. swipes (on a touch screen) are reversed as well.

Thanks for the reply ali_khawaja

do you mean when the "Ribbon Layout" is in use?

In that mode the pages are still left to right. In 2 page and 2 page continuous they appear to be correct to me.
Is that what you are seeing also?

I have created a Feature Request for this (internal only). RT#4068: Feature Request : Add RTL for Ribbon Layout

Simply ask here for an update when inquiring about the status of this.

I hope that helps.
Best regards

Thanks for the reply. i did not realize that there is Right to Left layout. Really appreciate it.

on the ribbon layout, yes you are right. it does not work properly. it goes back to LTR layout. so that needs to be fixed.

product is just amazing. i have been using foxit for a while, but for the first time, i am going to pay to buy the full version.

do you guys have an android version of the product?

Thanks
Ali
