Selecting Text without selecting comments? [Solved]
Is there a way to do this? Otherwise this could be a good suggestion. It's annoying to remove the comments every time I need to select part of the original text in the documents.

Re: Selecting Text without selecting comments?
Normally, when you select text by using the "Select Text"-tool in the Home-ribbon, it does not select the comments/annotations.
Does this happen with specific documents or with all documents ?
An other way to select all the (base content)-text, except comments, is to use the Content pane (via View > Panes) and then click the "Options" button in that pane, followed by Select > Text.
I hope this helps ?

Re: Selecting Text without selecting comments? SOLVED
Hello, Willy Van Nuffel
By default the "select text" tool actually does interact with Comments, as well as base content (because exclusive mode is disabled). To prevent this, you can enable exclusive mode for the select text tool temporarily by holding the "Shift" key, or you can toggle it on/off by using Ctrl+G+E. note that exclusive mode is toggled independently for each tool, so you will want to do this while the select text tool is in use.
Kind regards,

Re: Selecting Text without selecting comments?
Holding the shift works and the hotkey works too. But no option is apparent to the user to enable it like other tools. Would you mind adding this feature?

Actually, it would be nice to be able to opt for "exclusive mode" in Preferences if one does not usually want the select text tool to pick up Comments text.
All best,

Re: Selecting Text without selecting comments?
Hello again!
This was actually one of my largest requests when we added the "exclusive mode" toggle to the "hand" tool, and I swear it was present in the recent past. I have just brought this back to our dev team so they can implement it, but in the meantime, you can either use the hotkey combination I mentioned above to toggle it on and and off, or you can open the "properties" pane (Ctrl+~) and you will see an exclusive mode toggle there.
Kind regards,
