Preview in Windows explorer - Swipe to scroll

Post by Loki@99 »

Hi,

It will be convenient to have a swipe to scroll page gesture support in windows explorer preview.

Thanks for considering this,

Hello Loki@99,

I am not too sure whether we can have that much control over that window, but I will ask our developers to check whether this is something we can consider.
Do you have other previews (even if for other file formats) where you can swipe in the preview pane in Explorer?

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello Loki@99,

Thanks for confirming that you have that functionality with other types of files!
I am still awaiting my colleagues' feedback on whether we can add such a feature to our previews as well.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello Loki@99,

We just checked our latest version and see that we are able to scroll-by-fingers inside our pdf-previewer in Windows Explorer.
Yes, the zoom-by-2fingers doesn't work at the moment but will work in the upcoming build. But scroll-by-fingers works for us definitely.

So let me ask some questions:

- Can you confirm that you have installed the latest version of our product?
- What device do you use?
- What is your OS?

Hello Loki@99,

Thanks for confirming you do have the latest build.
So are you saying that simple swipe without zooming ect is still not working for you?
Are there any specific/custom gestures for the swipe action (e.g. do you need to do it with a specific number of fingers) - and is it exactly the same gesture that you use which works with other previews?

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi,

As you can see in the following video, I can't perform a simple swipe to scroll gesture with my finger or stylus (Huawei M-pencil 2).

I noticed that I can swipe with my stylus after a long press and hold action though.

Hope that it will help you fix the issue,

Hello Loki@99,

That website you uploaded your video to was not liked by either my AntiVirus nor Windows Defender - so I was not allowed to continue with actually downloading your file.
Can you please upload it on our own file server. I've e-mailed you a link to the location at which you can upload it.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello Again Loki99,

Our devs looked at your video and say that the preview handler that you are showing in that video does not look to be our own.

Please navigate to and start this tool:
"c:\Program Files\Tracker Software\Shell Extensions\XCShInfoSetup.exe"
And when it starts - select that PDF X-Change becomes your preview handler:
image.png
Then hit apply.

Once our preview handler is active - you should be able to use your fingers to scroll.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Indeed, it wasn't PDF-XChange preview handler.

After following your instructions, the issue was fixed.

Hope to see pinch to zoom preview gesture supported in next version as well.

Thanks again for your support,

Hello Loki@99,

Glad to hear that getting the right preview handler sorted it for you!

And unfortunately I can't make any promises on the pinch zoom in preview!

Kind regards,
Stefan
