Change a Single Path to Multiple Paths

I sometimes receive pdf files with images that are one single path. Here is an example of such a file:

If you look at the content, the image is one long path, which makes it extremely difficult to edit. For example, if I want to delete a portion of the image, the only way I can do so is by deleting or adjusting the many points in the path.

I would rather have it be a series of paths such as in this file:

Baking2.pdf

(926.05 KiB) Downloaded 7 times

In this file, I can just select the lines I want to delete and delete them.

Is it possible to use PDF-XChange to convert the first file into the second—i.e., break up the single path into many separate paths.

It is not currently possible, and I am not sure what the complexity of such a feature could be.
I will ask our devs to take a look, however I can not make any promises that this would be approved as a feature request, as usually it is up to the application initially creating the file (or sending information to a PDF printer) to decide whether to send all of that information as a single path object or as multiple ones.

I wondered if that was the case. Anyway, this is a "would be nice feature" so it's not that big of deal (in contrast, my request to draw curved lines is something that is a must have or I need to change my entire approach for certain tasks).

Actually - I just got great news from the devs - it would appear like such a feature has already been considered, and when we discussed your post I was asked to make this ticket:
#6850: FR: Editor - Change a Single Path to Multiple Paths (and reverse)

Once implemented (no time frame for now though) - you should be able to split a path into smaller objects, and there are also plans for you to be able to make a single more complex path from smaller ones - effectively combining them - hence the ticket name.
