How to use Help when using the viewer

I have opened a PDF File in which I want to erase certain written and typed text. I found a symbol that says "Eraser" or in Dutch "Gummetje". When I click on this knob I get a small round. How can I make this work as an eraser? Thanks for your help.

Are you using a copy of the Viewer ActiveX in a Clarion program, or is this in the standalone End-User version of the Viewer?

This is the standalone version I supose. I don't even know what Clarion program means.

As for the Eraser tool, it is only working with objects created by the pencil tool.
