Not opening pdf with a dot in file name

Post by isaacumana »

I am using a PC running on windows 8.
When I try to open any file in Google Drive that has a dot in the name it gives me an error message: [Operating System]: the system can not find the file specified.
The files do open when I access them directly from PDF Editor.
Not sure if it has to do with Google Drive or the fact that it has dot in the name.
In only happens with the files with a dot in them.

Hello isaacumana,

Welcome to our forums. We are aware of a problem when there is a # in the filename (and are working on fixing it), but a dot in the name should not be causing issues.
Can you please give us a sample of a full file name with the path as seen at your end?

Regards,
Stefan

You are right. The # sign is causing the issue.
It just happens that both files I tried had a dot...
I removed the # from the file and no issue.
Is there any way around it... I have many files with that sign in the name.

Hello isaacumana,

The Workaround is to use File -> Open... inside the Editor, and we are working on a fix.
