Compute symbols on PDF files

Hi, it is possible to perform symbol computations on PDF files (generated from PDF printouts of autocad files)?
Is this a problem that has already been submitted to you?
Could this be solved with some imaginative use of notes?

Hello Davide78,

Can you please provide us with an example of what you mean by "symbol computations" ?
If this is some CAD software specific feature - it might not be allowed by the PDF Spec, or we might have to go through other means (e.g. you can create form fields that can then perform calculations on some input data, but to know if that will suit your initial request we will need to better understand it!

I am afraid at the moment, we do not offer a counting function for base content items like "shapes/symbols".

Hi, I'll add another aspect to the question: is it possible to count the number of same/similar notes that are written on a PDF document using your program?
For example, number of red lines or green circles etc...

that you can do yes. Look to the "Comment Pane", and it will show you the count

You have quite some control over how you present the comments, you can group them in many different ways to get your "count".

Good morning, I'm continuing this very useful topic by asking something to make sure it can't be done.
I don't think the grouping options can be used in multiple ways.
For example, I would like to group by shape and color at the same time to obtain a list like this:
Total number of rectangles
- total number of red rectangles
- total number of green rectangles
Total number of circles
- total number of red circles
- total number of green circles
Is it possible?

Hello Davide78,

You are correct - currently you can not sort by one and then another criteria.
I believe we have feature requests for that already, however if or when that might be implemented I can not tell you at the moment.

as I understand it the ticket is in place already for sub category grouping. Because the comments pane is per document I do not think it will be likely to see this for all open documents I am afraid.
