Why can't I create PDF files in landscape orientation?

Question:

Why can't I create PDF files in landscape orientation?

Please note that a user asked this question in the Tracker Software forum. They were unable to create PDF files from documents that had a landscape orientation. This issue was present in older builds of the PDF-XChange products (and has now been fixed), Excel, Powerpoint and MindManager.

The print preview displayed documents in landscape orientation, but the software printed a corrupted portait version.

Answer:

The Paper Settings can cause this issue, especially when a sheet size option other than "Auto" is used. (If "Auto" is used then the settings of the source application determine the PDF specifications, which avoids this issue).

Follow the steps below to change the sheet size option to "Auto":

1. Move to the Control Panel.

2. Click Devices and Printers.

3. Right-click the PDF-XChange printer. A submenu will be displayed.

4. Click Printing preferences. The Printing Preferences dialog box will open.

5. Click Paper in the list of tabs on the left of the dialog box.

6. Click the Sheet Size dropdown menu and select "Auto."

7. Click OK.
