When I print documents from Google Chrome, MS Edge, Firefox or other modern browsers, the text cannot be selected, or it is distorted under high zoom:
The default print settings in most modern browsers now convert PDF text into curves. This means that text information is lost, and that the output text is uneven and cannot be selected. The browsers are responsible for this issue, and there is no way to change the settings in the PDF-XChange software in order to resolve it.
The PDF-XChange Standard virtual printer now includes a plugin for all chromium browsers, such as Google Chrome and MS Edge, that enables the direct conversion of webpages to PDF - without the need for printing the documents. This means that the original text is retained, as the printing process of the browser is bypassed. If you do not hold a license for PDF-XChange Standard, then the best solution to this issue is to print from Internet Explorer, or any other web browser that sends font data (instead of 'curves') to the printer.
