When I print a documents from Google Chrome, MS Edge, Firefox, etc, the text cannot be selection, or is distorted under high zoom:
The default print settings in most modern browsers now convert PDF text into curves. This means that text information is lost, and the resultant text is uneven and cannot be selected.
Note that this issue is internal to the browser itself and cannot be resolved by an external application like ours. If they change their handling in the future to send proper font information, this will begin working automatically.
If you hold a license for our "PDF-Xchange Standard Printer", we now include a plugin for all chromium browsers (such as Google Chrome and MS Edge), which allows you to directly convert a webpage, without printing. This is able to retain the text as it bypassed the browsers print process, and will directly generate a PDF with the text that is present on the webpage.
If you do not hold a license coverying the Standard printer, The bext solution to this issue is to print instead from Internet Explorer, or another web browser that does correctly send Font data to the printer, instead of "shapes".
