How do I add new Languages to the Editor Spellchecker?
Question
The Editor doesn't spell-check my language, how do I fix this?
Resolution
The PDF-XChange Editor spell checker is fully compatible with the FREE open source dictionaries that Open Office uses, these can be downloaded here: http://extensions.openoffice.org/
These can then be added to the Editor using one of two methods below:
GUI selection
On the File tab, click Preferences and navigate to the Plugins category.
Click the Spell Check plugin, then click Setup
The Spell Checker setup dialog will appear
Click Add Dictionary, then navigate to the folder that you downloaded the dictionary to
Next, these must be activated. On the File tab, click Preferences, and navigate to the Plugins catogory.
Select Spellcheck, and click Setup. Ensure that the new dictionary present, check the tickbox, and then click OK
The Spellchecker is now setup to work in the newly selected language.
Manual file management
The OXT file(s) will need to be added to two places, the dictionaries folder in the Editor's Program Files folder, and the Editor's AppData folder. If your setup is standard, the Program Files folder can be found under C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Editor\Dictionaries
While the AppData folder is found under %appdata%\Tracker Software\PDFXEditor\3.0
Note: You may need to create a Dictionaries folder manually, to do this right click and select New Folder or press Ctrl+Shift+N
Next, these must be activated. On the File tab, click Preferences, and navigate to the Plugins catogory.
Select Spellcheck, and click Setup. Ensure that the new dictionary present, check the tickbox, and then click OK
The Spellchecker is now setup to work in the newly selected language.
