I have a problem with OCR languages not appearing in Build 352.0

Note that this article is a temporary workaround for devices experiencing this issue during Version 9, build 352.0. This issue will be resolved with Version 9, build 353.0, but this article will remain in place as a reference. If you have not already done so, please first check for updates before following the steps below.

Symptoms

On some Windows devices, it is possible that the OCR module is not started properly, which can cause your languages list to appear "empty", like so:

Resolution

As mentioned above, this is a temporary workaround during build 352.0, if you have not already, please check for updates before following the steps below.

To resolve this, please open the dropdown section relevant to your PC architecture below. If you are not sure wether your device is 32 or 64 bit, please email Support@tracker-software.com for help determining the next step.

64-Bit Windows Systems

  1. Ensure that all of our PDF-XChange software is closed. 

  2. Download the following zip archives: AOCR_CRT.x64.zip and AOCR_CRT.x86.zip
  3. Open your Window file explorer and type the following into the address bar:
    %CommonProgramFiles%\Tracker Software\Common\ABBYY
  4. Unpack the ​​​​​Zip folders that were downloaded above into this directory.

Now the issue should be resolved and you can re-open our software to continue using the EOCR functions as intended.

32-Bit Windows Systems

  1. Ensure that all of our PDF-XChange software is closed. 

  2. Download this zip archive: AOCR_CRT.x86.zip
  3. Open your Window file explorer and type the following into the address bar:
    %CommonProgramFiles%\Tracker Software\Common\ABBYY
  4. Unpack the ​​​​​Zip folder that was downloaded above into this directory.

Now the issue should be resolved and you can re-open our software to continue using the EOCR functions as intended.
