Hi,
I came upon the option "Do not OCR pages that already contain text content items". I took an image file, one page, no text, and applied "OCR pages". That went fine, i.e. ended up with a text layer as expected.
I reran "OCR pages", said option still active, but the progress box now stated "Recognizing page 1 of 0" and never returned until I pressed "Cancel".
It seems there is a counter issue when all pages of a document have already been OCR'ed. (PDF-XChange Editor v7.0.323.2)
